Jaxson Robinson continues to gain recognition as one of college basketball’s standout players entering the 2024-25 season. Recently highlighted by CBS Sports, Robinson now appears on ESPN’s top 100 list, landing at No. 50 and ranked 12th in the SEC. As the former Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year, Robinson, who transferred to Kentucky, is the only Wildcat to make ESPN’s top 100.
ESPN analysts Jeff Borzello and Myron Medcalf praised Robinson, noting his potential impact at Kentucky. “After withdrawing from the NBA draft, Robinson (14.2 PPG) joined Mark Pope at Kentucky, aiming to strengthen the Wildcats’ roster after John Calipari’s tenure,” they wrote. Although his shooting percentage from beyond the arc was 30% in Big 12 play, Robinson’s top performances, including an 18-point game against Kansas, indicate he could excel in the SEC.
CBS Sports also recognized Robinson, ranking him at No. 33 on its top 101 list. CBS Sports’ Kyle Boone praised his skills as a shooter, saying, “Mark Pope brought a strong shooter from BYU to Kentucky. Robinson’s 14.2 points per game and 35.4% from 3-point range make him a leading scorer in the Wildcats’ offensive system.”
ESPN’s list also includes 27 players whom Kentucky will face this season, such as No. 1 Cooper Flagg (Duke) and No. 3 Mark Sears (Alabama), making for a challenging schedule. Meanwhile, On3’s Jamie Shaw ranked Robinson at No. 49 on the top 125 list, with Andrew Carr from Kentucky also included at No. 81.
As Robinson joins a roster of transfers and fresh talent, fans and analysts alike are eager to see how he adapts to his new role as a scoring leader for the Wildcats this season.
