Two homes have been severely damaged after what police have described as “suspicious devices” were thrown at them in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland.
The explosions occurred in Carnany Drive shortly after 02:00 GMT on Saturday. Police reported hearing two loud blasts in the area and discovered remnants of two suspicious devices that had been thrown at the properties, causing significant damage.
Authorities have expressed concern over the potential risks, highlighting that the incident took place in a busy residential area, where it could have resulted in serious injury or worse.
The investigation into the attacks is ongoing, with police working to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosions.
DUP Councillor John McAuley expressed his shock over the incidents, noting that residents of the area had raised concerns about a recent uptick in anti-social behaviour in the community.
McAuley, alongside his party colleagues, announced plans to seek meetings with various agencies, including the police, to discuss the situation and explore measures that could be taken to ensure the safety of local residents.
