Seven individuals have been arrested and charged following disturbances during Bonfire Night celebrations in Glasgow’s Pollokshields area.
This brings the total number of arrests across Scotland since 5 November to 43.
On Friday, Police Scotland officers conducted searches at six locations across Pollokshields, Darnley, and Paisley as part of their ongoing investigations.
Among those arrested were two men aged 19 and 24, a 39-year-old woman, and two males aged 14, as well as two more males aged 15 and 16.
Police described the scenes in Pollokshields on 5 November as “challenging,” with groups of youths targeting officers, vehicles, and public property. Projectiles, including fireworks, were thrown at law enforcement, though no officers were injured.
However, the disturbances caused “significant disruption and alarm” to the local community.
The arrest of these individuals is part of continued efforts by Police Scotland to address public safety concerns during this year’s Bonfire Night celebrations.
