Leicester City have parted ways with manager Steve Cooper following disappointing results that have left the club just above the Premier League relegation zone.
The club confirmed in an official statement that assistant manager Alan Tate and first-team coach and analyst Steve Rands have also been dismissed.
The statement read: “Steve, Alan and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the club and with our best wishes for the future.”
First-team coach Ben Dawson will oversee training, assisted by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as Leicester City begin the search for a new manager, with hopes of concluding the process promptly.
The newly-promoted side has struggled with a winless streak, leaving them in 16th place with just 10 points from 12 matches.
Cooper, who signed a three-year contract in the summer after replacing Enzo Maresca, was dismissed after overseeing a 2-1 home loss to Maresca’s Chelsea on Saturday. This marks Cooper’s final game as Leicester manager.
Cooper becomes the second Premier League manager to be sacked this season, following Manchester United’s decision to part ways with Erik ten Hag last month.
