First Minister Eluned Morgan is set to unveil plans for a major investment summit in Wales, scheduled for 2025.
The announcement will be made during the CBI Wales Annual Dinner in Cardiff this evening, 28 November.
This upcoming summit aims to position Wales as a prime destination for global industry leaders and investors.
It follows last month’s International Investment Summit in London, where the first minister engaged with international investors alongside the Secretary of State for Wales, the Prime Minister, and representatives from both the UK and devolved governments.
The 2025 summit will highlight Wales’s strengths in key industries, aiming to attract investment and foster economic growth.
Recent initiatives have already led to significant job creation, with the Welsh Government keen to maintain this upward trajectory.
Economic growth remains a top priority for the Welsh Government, with the event poised to showcase Wales’s potential in sectors such as green growth, manufacturing, finance, and tourism.
The First Minister emphasised the importance of building on recent successes, stating, “it’s vital we keep that momentum going next year. Delivering the Welsh Government’s mission to grow the economy will come squarely off the back of the private sector.”
Katie Spackman, Associate Director of CBI Wales, also welcomed the initiative, describing Wales as a “highly attractive destination for global investment.”
She highlighted Wales’s geographical advantages and its robust private sector as key drivers for sustainable economic growth.
The summit promises to be a pivotal opportunity to boost Wales’s profile on the global stage and unlock new avenues for long-term investment.
