Over 1,000 office workers at Ford’s production plants in Dagenham, London, and Speke, Liverpool, are set to escalate their strike action in protest over pay disputes and changes to their employment contracts.
The union Unite has accused Ford of planning to implement 100% performance-related pay from 2025, along with altering the collective bargaining agreement and revising the company’s sick pay policy.
Additionally, workers are in dispute over a proposed pay increase for 2024.
After staging a one-day strike on October 30, the workers are now planning further selective strikes.
The industrial action at Dagenham will take place from today until November 15, while strikes at Speke will occur on November 14 and 15.
A demonstration will also be held tomorrow at 12:30 PM outside Dagenham’s Gate 20.
Unite General Secretary Sharon Graham commented, “Ford has launched a direct assault on its office workers’ pay and conditions for no other reason than corporate greed.
“It is an appalling way to behave by a company that is already massively wealthy.”
