A 32-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident in west London that left an eight-year-old girl and her father seriously injured.
Jazz Reid, from Kensington, has also been charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, and is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The shooting occurred at around 5:30 PM GMT on Sunday, as the victims were in a car on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove.
Both the girl and her father sustained serious gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, the girl’s two-year-old sibling and her mother, aged 32, were also in the vehicle but were unharmed.
The father, aged 34, is reported to have suffered potentially life-changing injuries, while his daughter’s condition is described as “not life-threatening.” Both remain in hospital under medical care.
The Metropolitan Police have thanked the public for their assistance and are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
On Monday, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, though he has since been bailed to return for further questioning in early February.
The incident has shocked the local community, and authorities are determined to gather all relevant information as the investigation continues.
