A tragic car accident in Cornwall has claimed the life of a 19-year-old and left six others injured, prompting police action.
The incident occurred late on Friday night at approximately 11:15 pm, involving two black Seat Ibiza vehicles that collided at a crossroads between St Trudy and St Breward, near the B3266.
The 19-year-old male, who was seated in the front passenger seat of one of the cars, was declared dead at the scene.
Six other individuals were transported to the hospital, with their injuries reported to be minor, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.
Following the crash, an 18-year-old male from Bodmin has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while impaired by drink or drugs.
He has since been released on bail as further investigations are conducted.
Emergency responders, including police, ambulance, and fire crews, attended the scene of the accident.
The road, typically a busy thoroughfare, was closed for 16 hours to facilitate a thorough investigation.
Authorities are now urging any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage of the collision to come forward to assist in the inquiry.
