A 27-year-old woman tragically lost her life following a serious collision with a lorry on the A96 near Forres in Moray.
The accident occurred at approximately 07:10, and emergency services were quick to attend, but the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family has since been informed of the devastating news.
The driver of the lorry, a 57-year-old man, was unharmed and did not require medical attention.
Police Scotland temporarily closed the A96 to allow collision investigators to examine the scene thoroughly.
Sgt. Lesley Morrison has issued an appeal for any witnesses or drivers who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash.
