Detectives are appealing for public assistance following a high-value burglary in Primrose Hill, Camden, north London, in which jewellery worth more than £10 million was stolen.
The burglary occurred on Saturday 7 December, between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm, when an intruder broke into a residence in Avenue Road.
It is believed the suspect entered the property through a second-floor window and made off with a range of luxury items, including £150,000 worth of Hermès Crocodile Kelly handbags, £15,000 in cash, and £10.4 million in bespoke jewellery.
Among the stolen jewellery were several unique pieces, such as a 10.73-carat diamond ring and two butterfly diamond rings from De Beers, a 3.03-carat ring, aquamarine ring, and the “Niloticus Lumière” necklace from Hermès, as well as a Van Cleef & Arpels clip featuring gold, diamonds, and sapphires.
Other high-end items included the “Fleur des Mers” ring with diamonds, sapphires, and aquamarines, a platinum bracelet and necklace collection from 1978, and rare pink sapphire butterfly earrings from London jeweller Katherine Wang.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late twenties or thirties, with a medium build. He was seen wearing a dark hoodie, cargo pants, and a grey baseball cap, with his face covered during the break-in. The suspect was reportedly armed with an unknown weapon.
Detective Constable Paulo Roberts, who is investigating the case, described the robbery as a “brazen offence” and emphasised that many of the stolen items are easily identifiable due to their uniqueness.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area of Avenue Road, NW8, between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm on 7 December, or anyone who may have seen the stolen jewellery or has been offered the items for sale, to come forward. Information can be provided to the police or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
