An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 44-year-old Michelle Sadio, who was fatally shot outside the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church in Harlesden, north-west London. The tragic incident occurred on Gifford Road at approximately 9:30 PM on December 14.
Suspect Charged with Multiple Offenses
Tahjin Sommersal, of Lafone Avenue in Feltham, has been charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, according to the Metropolitan Police. Sommersal was remanded in custody and appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday. He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey in the coming days.
Arrests Made in Connection with the Shooting
The Metropolitan Police also confirmed the arrests of five additional suspects during operations in Brent and Hounslow. The men, aged 18, 21, 24, and 33, remain in custody as investigations continue.
Victim Attended Church Wake Before Fatal Shooting
Michelle Sadio had been attending a wake at the church before the fatal shooting. She was pronounced dead at the scene, while two men, both in their 30s, sustained injuries during the incident. The Metropolitan Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives are urging witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as the investigation progresses.
