A targeted attack on Bath Street in Portobello, Edinburgh, left an 18-year-old man with serious injuries. The incident occurred around 18:40 on Friday evening, prompting a police investigation.
The victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. While his injuries are described as serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police Scotland is actively searching for three men believed to be involved in the assault. Two of the suspects were seen wearing dark clothing and black balaclavas, and they fled the scene on dark-coloured e-bikes.
Both are described as tall and of slim build. The third suspect is of stocky build with blonde hair.
Detective Inspector Dougal Begg has confirmed that this was a targeted attack. Officers are conducting door-to-door inquiries and reviewing local CCTV footage to piece together the events leading up to the assault.
Police have increased their presence in the area to reassure residents and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone who may have seen the suspects or captured relevant footage on dashcams or doorbell cameras to contact them immediately.
