A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed in the chest in broad daylight at a Primark store in Nottingham city centre, leaving shoppers in shock.
The attack took place around 11:30 am on Sunday at the Long Row branch, with the victim slashed in front of horrified bystanders.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, treating the teenager before taking him to hospital with serious injuries.
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that the attacker fled towards Market Square and remains at large.
Initial investigations suggest that a fight broke out among a group of young people outside the store before the stabbing occurred.
A large police presence was seen at the location, with Primark closed for much of the day as forensic teams examined the scene.
Detective Inspector Paul Shortt described the incident as an “appalling act of violence” carried out in full view of the public.
“A team of detectives is now working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.
“To this end they want to hear from anyone who saw or heard any part of what happened. No matter how significant you think your information may be, we want to hear from you without delay.”
