The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for widespread fog, which could cause significant travel disruption across parts of England.
Foggy conditions are expected to affect Yorkshire and Humber, the North East, the North West, the East of England, and the East Midlands.
Areas including Norwich, Cambridge, Ipswich, Essex, and Middlesbrough are covered by the warning, along with Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, and Blackpool.
The warning, which came into effect at 4am on Wednesday and lasts until 10am, highlights the risk of dense fog reducing visibility to less than 100 metres in some locations.
This could lead to slower journey times, delays to buses and trains, and even potential flight cancellations.
Motorists have been advised to check road conditions before setting off, allow extra travel time, and use fog lights where necessary.
The Met Office has also urged passengers to check for updates from transport providers, as disruptions to bus and rail services are possible.
Despite the morning fog, conditions are expected to improve later in the day, with sunny spells and light winds forecast across much of the UK.
