British Airways recently inaugurated its new routes to Kuala Lumpur and Tbilisi, enhancing its network in Central and Southeast Asia.
This marks the airline’s return to Malaysia after a five-year absence with the relaunch of Kuala Lumpur flights.
Upon landing, passengers of the inaugural flight were welcomed with gift bags and exclusive presents. The flag carrier has announced a daily service from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur, utilising its Boeing 787-900 fleet.
This aircraft offers passengers a selection of four travel classes: World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), Club World (business class), and First (first class).
Furthering its commitment to provide extensive travel choices, British Airways has broadened its codeshare agreement with Malaysia Airlines.
This expansion will afford travellers enhanced options and seamless connections to over 17 additional routes from Kuala Lumpur, covering strategic locations such as Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Additionally, British Airways has reintegrated Tbilisi into its route network after more than ten years. The service to the Georgian capital is part of its short-haul offering, with two cabin choices available: Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy).
Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the addition of these routes, noting, “We’re delighted to welcome Malaysia and Georgia back to our network, destinations cherished and frequented by our customers.”
In a significant development, British Airways has also doubled its flights to Tokyo Haneda, moving to two flights daily.
This increase reflects a substantial enhancement in capacity and connectivity between the UK and Japan, just in time for the summer travel season. The route will now see 14 weekly flights, including daily services operated by the airline’s A350 fleet.
