Renowned British actor P.H. Moriarty has passed away at age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable performances in some of the most iconic films and TV series of his era.
Born in Deptford, Moriarty was best known to modern audiences for his role as Hatchet Harry Lonsdale in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
However, it was his portrayal of the ruthless enforcer Razors in the 1980 gangster classic The Long Good Friday that truly cemented his status as a silver screen legend.
Throughout his career, Moriarty took on a variety of memorable roles, including Jack Tate in Jaws 3D, as well as appearances in Quadrophenia, Scum, The Bill, Judge John Deed, Doctors, and Frank Herbert’s Dune.
Before finding fame in the film industry, Moriarty worked as a docker on Surrey Docks and was a former boxer. His path into acting began when he was spotted by a film crew, leading to a long and successful career in cinema and television.
