Two women are in critical condition following a serious crash on the A82 near the popular Falls of Falloch in Stirling.
The collision, which involved a Ford Mondeo and an Audi A2, occurred around 1:40 pm on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident, located between Ardlui and Crianlarich, a well-known route that attracts tourists and nature lovers heading towards the Scottish Highlands.
A 35-year-old woman was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, while a 60-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
Both victims are currently in critical condition as medical teams work to stabilise them.
The A82 is a major route that stretches from Glasgow to Inverness, passing through some of Scotland’s most scenic landscapes.
However, it is also known for being one of the most dangerous roads in the country, with several accidents reported each year due to its winding paths and unpredictable weather conditions.
Police Scotland has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
This tragic accident has once again raised concerns about road safety on the A82, which has long been criticised for its narrow lanes and lack of safety measures in certain areas.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
