Reports from local media indicate that American and British fighter jets have launched airstrikes close to Hodeidah University in Al Hawak, a city in western Yemen.
While the full impact remains unclear, initial reports have not yet confirmed any casualties.
Yemeni communities have shown unwavering support for Palestine following the intensification of Israel’s military operations in Gaza, which began on October 7.
The campaign started after Palestinian resistance movements launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in a retaliatory strike against Israeli occupation.
Since the escalation, the Yemeni Armed Forces have stated that they will sustain their counter-attacks targeting military interests linked to Israel until Israeli ground and air offensives in Gaza cease, which to date have reportedly led to over 27,000 Palestinian casualties and wounded around 67,000 more.
This recent airstrike comes as part of a broader coalition announced by the United States and the United Kingdom in December, which includes a military strategy involving Yemen as a support mechanism for Israel.
The coalition, created to bolster Israel’s security amid regional hostilities, has intensified regional reactions and broadened the scope of conflict in the Middle East.
