A 37-year-old woman has been arrested following a stabbing incident in the South Link area of west Belfast.
The attack occurred around 5:30 PM on Thursday, where a man sustained injuries to his arm after being stabbed with a bottle at a block of flats.
Emergency services, including the police and ambulance crews, responded swiftly to the scene. The injured man was transported to hospital for treatment.
Shortly after the incident, Armed Response Officers were deployed to the same block of flats to locate the suspect.
Heavily armed officers with firearms and TASERs conducted a thorough search of two properties within the building, issuing repeated warnings before gaining entry using force. Despite their efforts, the suspect was initially not found on the premises.
Police later confirmed that a woman had been taken into custody on suspicion of multiple offences, including wounding.
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated, “At around 5.30pm, we received a report that a man had been stabbed in the arm with a bottle at a property in the South Link area,” said police.
“Armed Response Officers attended and arrested a 37-year-old woman a short time later on suspicion of a number of offences including wounding.”
Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in their ongoing investigation. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV, doorbell, or other relevant footage.
