Jeffrey Epstein is reported to have housed several alleged victims in London flats after UK police chose not to pursue an investigation into claims against him.
According to reporting by BBC, documents including emails, receipts and bank records indicate that Epstein used at least four properties in Kensington and Chelsea. Six women who stayed in those flats have since accused him of sexual abuse.
The claims relate to a period after the Metropolitan Police decided not to investigate allegations made in 2015 by Virginia Giuffre, who said she had been trafficked internationally, including to London. Giuffre was among the most prominent figures to accuse Epstein of abuse and exploitation.
She also alleged in a US lawsuit filed in 2021 that Prince Andrew had sexual relations with her in London in 2001 when she was 17, after being trafficked by Epstein. Prince Andrew has consistently denied the allegation.
The newly surfaced material, largely dated between 2018 and 2019, suggests Epstein remained in contact with women staying in London properties even after earlier allegations had been made public. Some of the women, reportedly from Russia and eastern Europe, were brought to the UK during this period.
Messages reviewed by the BBC show Epstein using hostile language in exchanges with some of the women, including complaints about their behaviour and living arrangements. Other communications reportedly include references to models and arrangements linked to individuals based in London.
The documents form part of a wider release of millions of files connected to Epstein, including emails, images and financial records linked to investigations into his activities. These records have been made public following the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act in the United States.
Epstein died in 2019 while in custody awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
The Metropolitan Police has been approached for comment regarding the latest revelations.
