A tragic crash in Aughton has claimed the life of a teenage boy and left three others seriously injured.
The incident occurred around 9:00 PM GMT when a Vauxhall Corsa, travelling north on Fir Tree Lane, veered off the road and collided with a farm building, according to Lancashire Police.
A 17-year-old male passenger sustained severe injuries and was rushed to hospital but tragically died shortly after.
Three other teenage boys, who were also in the vehicle, suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital.
Detective Sergeant Joseph Ghigi expressed condolences to the families affected, stating:
“This collision has very sadly resulted in the death of one young man and left three others with serious injuries and my thoughts are with all of their loved ones at this time.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash or who may have seen the car prior to the accident to come forward.
Dashcam, mobile phone footage, or CCTV from the area could be vital in helping the investigation.
