A 16-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in a shocking street attack in Edinburgh.
The incident occurred on Stenhouse Avenue West at approximately 9 pm on Sunday evening.

Police Investigation Underway
Authorities are actively investigating the assault, with officers conducting door-to-door inquiries and gathering CCTV footage from the area to piece together the events leading to the stabbing.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated, “This was a violent and unprovoked attack on a young individual. We are working tirelessly to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those involved.”
Rising Concerns About Youth Violence
This attack has raised fresh concerns about youth-related violence in Edinburgh. Knife crime, particularly among teenagers, has been a growing issue across Scotland, despite efforts to reduce it through initiatives like the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit (VRU).
Scotland once had one of the highest knife crime rates in Europe. However, in recent years, significant progress has been made, with prevention programmes targeting at-risk youth.
Despite these successes, incidents like this highlight the challenges that remain in eradicating such violence entirely.
