Rail commuters in western Scotland are facing significant delays after a power outage disabled overhead cables, causing widespread disruption.
ScotRail announced on Monday morning that all lines between Barassie and Irvine have been shut down due to an electricity supply failure.
Engineers are presently on-site, assessing the situation to determine the cause of the outage and to work towards a resolution.
In the meantime, ScotRail has arranged for replacement bus services and has advised passengers to seek alternative travel options where possible.
In a separate development, emergency services are currently addressing an incident on the line between Barrhead and Glasgow Central, which has further compounded delays across the ScotRail network.
Passengers are advised to check for updates and plan their journeys accordingly as the situation develops.
